Good and cheap5
No complaints here on this color ink cartridge. Quite a bit cheaper than it is in stores. Great way to save a few dollars.

Only got a few pages out of this cartridge.1
For some reason, I have only got a few pages out of this ink cartridge. The product must have been defective.

Canon inkjet cartridges5
I have tried to buy the so called compatible cartridges and it has always been a disaster. There just isn’t any substitute for the original factory manufactured inkjet cartridges by Canon.

A Good Biblical Epic4
The Robe is most famous now for being the first movie filmed in CinemaScope. It was not the first film shot in a widescreen process. There were a few experiments with widescreen in the twenties and thirties, but The Robe was the film which started the boom in the production of widescreen epics. The Robe therefore has a definite and important place in cinema history, but this would mean little today if it were not also a fine film in its own right. In this respect it does not disappoint. The story tells of Marcellus Gallio (Richard Burton), a Roman tribune sent to Palestine who oversees the crucifixion of Christ. He wins Christ’s robe in a dice game, little realising the significance it will have for him. Burton is very good in this role and shows what a fine film actor he could be. Victor Mature is also entertaining as Demetrius, Burton’s slave and later his friend. Best of all the film shows Jean Simmons at her best, playing Diana the woman Burton loves. My only complaint about her role is that she does not appear on screen enough.

Biblical epics may not be terribly fashionable nowadays, but I’ve always enjoyed them and The Robe is one of the best of the genre. It describes the events surrounding the familiar Biblical stories using characters from the Bible and fictional characters to flesh out the narrative. In this way it rather resembles how Ben Hur interweaves the Biblical story with fictional events of Ben Hur’s life. This technique works well in The Robe and makes for fine historical fiction with a religious theme.

The print used for the Twentieth Century Fox DVD is in good condition. The CinemaScope images have been anamorphically enhanced and look stunning. The colours are bright and clear and there is hardly any visible damage. The sound likewise is good with no background noise. This DVD only has some trailers for extras, but anyone who enjoys Biblical epics will want to get The Robe.

“as for me, I have found another king”5
A marvelous epic melodrama, with portions that are emotionally stirring, and with two exceedingly attractive stars, this film ranks high in the “sword and sandals” genre.
This is prime-time Richard Burton, at age 27, heavenly to look at and even better to listen to; his crisp enunciation makes the English language shine, and though some of his scenes are a little “over the top”, he carries them off with charismatic presence. Jean Simmons is exquisite as Diana, the woman who has loved Marcellus (Burton) since childhood, and their screen romance has a rare depth and spark.
Other notable performances come from Victor Mature as Demetrius the slave, with a mute but moving scene at Christ’s crucifixion, and Michael Rennie is grand as Peter. Jay Robinson is wonderfully rotten as the vicious Caligula.

I always like a good fight sequence, and there is a brilliantly choreographed one between Marcellus and a centurion. It is the kind of swordplay great Shakespearean actors have perfected, and it is a delight to watch.
Directed by Henry Koster, it has an exceptional score by Alfred Newman, and vibrant Technicolor cinematography by Leon Shamroy. I like the way the night scenes have a deep blue glow to them, and the costumes are wonderful. Oscars went to Best Art Direction/Set Design (color) and Best Costume design (color). It was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Cinematography (color), and was the first film to be released in CinemaScope.
I saw this film many years ago, and had thought it a little silly, but we have both aged well; I can now watch it repeatedly, and appreciate the depictions of courage, and the beauty and humanity of it. Total running time is 2 hours and 13 minutes.

The 1st ever Cinemascope Movie now on WideScreen DVD4
In 1953 Hollywood answered the threat of television by announcing a new WideScreen format called Cinemascope. Up until now all movies were Standard 4:3 ratio format. Now, with 20th Century Fox’s Cinemascope a 255:1 ratio (this is really spectacular to see on your WideScreen Home Theatre)and the “THE ROBE” people would marvel over this larger than life Technicolor film experience.

With this 20th Century Fox DVD release we have GOOD news & BAD news; The GOOD news is this package provides an ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN presentation (this movie will adjust to any tv size uncluding HDTV 16:9). We also get 4.0 Surround Sound (great quality). The BAD news, the picture is NOT ENHANCED for WIDESCREEN TVs. (this makes for a grainy and dark presentation. The vibrant Technicolor is some what lost too.)

The movie “THE ROBE” itself remains one of the screens greatest biblical epics. Nominated for 5 Academy Awards including “BEST PICTURE & BEST ACTOR (Richard Burton)”.

SUMMARY; A Roman Centurian (Burton) is charged with overseeing the crucifixion. He wins Christ’s Robe in a gambling game at the foot of the cross & his life is changed forever. A grand supporting cast to include; Jean Simmons, Victor Mature & Michael Rennie.

The movie is 135 minutes in length. Extra Feature: Trailer Only

This is the movie which introduced us to Cinemascope and Hollywood would never be the same.

“The Robe” is a great Hollywood movie epic that should be experienced by everyone at least once.

Again my only reason for a 4 star rating is because of the graininess of the Home Theatre Wide Screen presentation. Enjoy.

When Roman tribune Marcellus Gallio (Richard Burton) is sent to Jerusalem, one of his assignments is the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Marcellus, a cynical and hardened man, wins the robe Jesus wore to the crucifixion while gambling with other Roman soldiers underneath the dying savior. He later becomes convinced that his hallucinations and violent outbursts are the result of a curse received from the robe, which is now in the possession of his escaped slave, Demetrius (Victor Mature), somewhere in the Middle East. He sets out to find Demetrius in order to destroy the robe and the curse and finds faith instead, converting to Christianity. This was the first movie to be filmed in CinemaScope, and won Oscars in 1953 for costume design, art direction, and set decoration. The visual aspects of the film are stunning, and it may be worth viewing for that alone; however, the script and acting leave much to be desired, and you won’t find inspiration in these areas if that’s what interests you. If, however, you are more interested in this film for its religious matter, the story of the conversion of the hardened Marcellus is inspiring. –James McGrath

Near-Perfect Edition of Hollywood Classic…5
It seems like a ‘new, improved’ edition of “Gone With the Wind” has appeared every couple of years, offering the ‘ultimate’ in picture and sound reproduction, and extras. It can become expensive keeping up, and frustrating (much like buying a classic Disney DVD, when you know a more complete “Special Edition” will soon render your “First Time on Video” copy obsolete), but the new GWTW Four-Disc Collector’s Edition most assuredly deserves a place in your collection.

First off, the picture and sound quality is astonishing. Warner’s Ultra-Resolution process, which ‘locks’ the three Technicolor strips into exact alignment, provides a clarity and ‘crispness’ to the images that even the 1939 original print couldn’t achieve. You’ll honestly believe your TV is picking up HD, whether you’re HD-ready, or not! This carries over to the Dolby Digital-remastered sound, as well. All of the tell-tale hiss and scratchiness of the opening credit title music, still discernable in the last upgrade, is gone, replaced by a richness of tone that will give your home theater a good workout. (Listen to the brass in this sequence, and you’ll notice what I’m talking about…)

The biggest selling point of this edition is, of course, the two discs of additional features offered, and these are, in general, superb. Beginning with the excellent “Making of a Legend” (narrated by Christopher Plummer), Disc Three offers fascinating overviews about the film, the amazing restoration, footage from the 1939 Premiere (and the bittersweet 1961 Civil War Centennial reunion of Selznick, Leigh, and de Havilland), glimpses of Gable and Leigh with dubbed voices for the foreign-language versions, the international Prologue (tacked on to explain the Civil War to foreign audiences), and a 1940 MGM documentary on the “Old South” (directed by Fred Zinneman) memorable today for it’s simplistic view of the time, and stereotypical portrayal of blacks.

Disc Four is a mixed bag; the long-awaited reminiscences of Olivia de Havilland are more chatty than informative (with the 90-year-old actress more interested in discussing her wardrobe than on-set tension…although a prank she pulled on Gable is amusing), and the Clark Gable Profile is superficial (A&E’s biography of ‘The King’ is far superior). Things improve, however, with the insightful, sympathetic TCM biography of Vivien Leigh (hosted by Jessica Lange), and a WONDERFUL section devoted to brief bios of many of the GWTW supporting cast, narrated, again, by Christopher Plummer (although I wish the filmmakers would have included bios for Ward Bond, Victor Jory, Fred Crane, and George ‘Superman’ Reeves).

All in all, the GWTW Four-Disc Collector’s Edition isn’t perfect, but offers so much terrific material that it is CERTAINLY the one to own!

A Classic but it’s NOT for everyone!5
I used to think that this Hollywood classic was for everyone. However, after reading nearly 300 reviews of the film, I think that isn’t true anymore. This movie is NOT for you IF 1) you think a movie must be as historically accurate as a history book, 2) you think a 1939 movie should reflect the values of the 21st century, 3) your attention span is so short that you must only see movies from 90-120 minutes in length, 4) you can only accept politically correct films, particularly in terms of racial issues, 5) you are so DUMB as to think widescreen movies were made before the 1950s (although to be fair, Selznik originally intended to use a special widescreen process for the so-called “burning of Atlanta” sequence but gave up on the expensive idea), 6) you can only accept computerized special effects as they appear in modern films, or 7) your idea of great acting is to be found in slasher or teen films being made these days.

GWTW is NOT a documentary on the Civil War period. It is NOT a history of slavery in America. It is NOT a story of perfect people behaving perfectly at all times.

It IS an adaptation of a novel written by a Southern woman who, as a child, sat and listened to the stories the old Confederate veterans told about the old days before, during, and after THE war. It IS a love story, probably about the novelist’s grandmother, which reflects the attitudes left over from that long-ago time.

To criticize this film for so many unrelated issues is silly. It stands on its merits as a masterful film that tells of bittersweet love and lost fantasy. That it succeeds so well is a tribute to the actors and filmmakers of over sixty years ago.

“And you, miss, are no lady!”5
As with the “Wizard of OZ” BD set, the GWTW set is elaborated — and made “spendier” — with the addition of material that might not be absolutely necessary for one’s enjoyment. The box is covered in red velvet flocking (green would have been more appropriate and amusing — qv, Carol Burnett). There’s a CD “sampler” of Max Steiner’s score, running a measly 45 minutes. Given that Max took excessive scoring to the max (Bette Davis had some pointedly unkind things to say about it), a “sampler” could have filled two CDs, and still not have exhausted the music (though the music might exhaust you). *

As with “OZ”, there’s a 52-page hard-backed book that’s largely content-free, plus reproductions of some of the watercolor set-design paintings (in their own little envelope), and various memoranda sent to and from David O. Selznick. I was expecting a reproduction of Gerald O’Hara’s pocket watch, but it likely would have been of even poorer quality than the kiddie watch in the “OZ” box.

The best bonus is a reproduction of the 25-cent (expensive in 1939) souvenir booklet. It includes pieces by the principals, notably one from Clark Gable telling how badly he wanted to play Rhett Butler and much he enjoyed every minute of making the film. (He didn’t want to appear in “costume” films (having had bad luck in a film about Irish revolutionaries), was afraid to take on a role the public had such definite ideas about, and got along poorly with the first director, George Cukor.)

As I write this, I haven’t viewed all the supplemental material on the second disk. (There’s a lot.) The third disk duplicates the “When the Lion Roars” feature included in the “OZ” box — though the package labeling suggests it’s unique to GWTW.

GWTW was always unsharp and muddy-looking — until the Ultra Resolution transfer of the original three-strip negatives a few years ago. It was a major improvement, and the DVDs showed the film as it had never been seen.

This edition apparently uses a new Ultra Resolution transfer, at twice the resolution (8k versus 4k) of the previous. Some scenes — such as Ashley escorting Melanie to the balcony of Twin Oaks — are breathtaking, far superior to what the DVD offered (and /that/ wasn’t exactly chopped liver). The best Technicolor films, properly transferred, push HD to its limit.

What most surprised me, though, was the awareness of how the film’s color balance is adjusted to produce specific effects. Many scenes have an appropriately warm, “burnished” coloration that /does not/ carry over to the scene’s subtle colors. For example, at the fund-raising bazaar, there’s a bottle of pastel-colored candies (which you’ll probably never notice in the SD edition) that retain their correct colors, “unromantized” by the rest of the image’s warmth. Similarly, in the scene outside the hospital where Belle Watling makes a donation, her costume is vividly colored (there’s no question about her profession!), even though everything else is drab.

Several sequences are outstanding, particularly the one where Scarlett returns to Aunt Pittypat’s home to tend to Melanie. It’s a model of Technicolor photography, one that any cinematographer would be proud of — as good as anything being done today. In earlier transfers of poorer prints, this sequence is flat and two-dimensional. You can’t see how magnificently lit and photographed it is.

At its best, the Technicolor resembles large-format, ultra-sharp Polacolor. That’s a compliment! If you’re fortunate enough to have a large display, you’ll gasp at some of the images.

One of the most-startling moments occurs when Scarlett goes to the train station to look for Dr Meade, one of the most-famous scenes in movie history. Hundreds, if not thousands of injured men lie on the ground, waiting for medical attention that will likely never come. There weren’t enough extras, so dummies were used. And for the first time, you can actually /see/ which of the “extras” are dummies! You can probably tell better than the camera operator!

In short… The BD edition is a major improvement over the excellent DVD edition. It gives the impression that the movie makers were able to manipulate Technicolor to get specific aesthetic effects. ** And it shows just how /beautifully photographed/ this film is, something even the original Technicolor prints never fully revealed. The DVD probably captured most of this (I no longer have it for comparison), but you’ll never see it in standard definition on a “small” screen. Looking at excerpts in the supplmentary material /not/ taken from the Ultra Resolution transfer is a reminder of just how “messy”-looking the original GWTW was. It no longer is. I’ve never enjoyed watching it so much.

It’s becoming apparent that an HD transfer, shown on a big display, is not the best way to watch a movie at home, but the best way to watch a movie, period.

The sound is so-so, of limited range and not particularly clean. (Disney does a much better job cleaning up the audio of its classic films.) The reviewer who said it filled the room as well as any modern soundtrack most own Bose 901s. It would sound better in a theater, with big horn speakers that started rolling off above 5kHz. If GWTW was recorded in RCA multi-track, the stems don’t appear to have survived. (Those for “OZ” exist and have been used, though not, apparently in the Blu-ray.) Music and dialog are mono throughout, but individual sound effects (particulary explosions) are panned to the side or rear when appropriate. The music sometimes seems too loud for the dialog, and the overall level is by far the lowest of any Blu-ray I’ve yet auditioned. I had to really crank up the volume, far, far beyond 11.

This is an expensive set, but it represents such a significant improvement over the last DVD edition (as good as it was) that it’s worth seriously considering. Even if your BD player has a good scaler, the DVD won’t look anywhere nearly this good on your HD monitor. Highly recommended.

PS: Just because a film is a classic doesn’t mean it’s suitable for everyone in your family. The G rating is ridiculous. GWTW is at least PG, containing, as it does, women of questionable virtue, a fair amount of violence (including a scene in which Scarlett is attacked, and another in which she shoots a Yankee, practically blowing off his face), and Rhett dragging Scarlett up the stairs to “molest” her. The MPAA ratings board is nothing if not inconsistent.

PPS: Though Vivian Leigh and Hattie McDaniel received Oscars, I consider Butterfly McQueen’s performance as Prissy the best in the film. Though she hated the role (it’s too easy to interpret Prissy as representing slaves in general, rather than one in particular), she showed great courage in taking it, and delivers a finely nuanced performance.

* Max Steiner wrote the first great film score for a talky - “King Kong”. It epitomizes his style — “Mickey-Mousing” almost every screen action, and the heavy use of Leitmotivs for characters and events. (Note how Melanie’s motive appears every time she does, and how Rhett’s is played — breaking the scene’s mood — when he leaves Scarlett for the last time.) He was also the first sound-film composer to underscore almost the entire length of a film — this is not a recent development. It’s worth noting that GWTW, despite some memorable music, did not win “Best Score” for 1939 — Herbert Stothart’s for “Wizard of OZ” did. I find it considerably more imaginative and appealing.

** The Technicolor print uses dye transfer, in which each color is layed down separately from its own gelatin matrix. This allows a great deal of flexibility in controlling the contrast and color balance — if you’re willing to put out the time and money. According to the supplementary material, the color balance /was/ adjusted on scene-by-scene basis for GWTW, just as it is for modern films - that’s what the “color timer” person does. A high-quality print from 1939 was found, and guided the restorers in adjusting color balance.

An exuberant wife and mother of two, with a flair for the written word finds adventure in “American Dreamer,” a comedy from director Rick Rosenthal. Cathy Palmer (JoBeth Williams) enters a writing contest (two-thousand words written in the style of the notorious “Rebecca Ryan” adventure-thriller series) and wins a week-long stride for two to Paris, France, to serve a luncheon to be given in her honor. When her patronizing husband, Kevin (James Staley) refuses to go (too worthy work at the office), and forbids her to go, as well, she asserts herself, finds a sitter for her two boys and goes anyway. While taking in some of the sights of Paris on her design to the luncheon, she is hit by a car and bashes her head on the pavement. When she awakens in the hospital, she thinks she is Rebecca Ryan, and her trusty adventures inaugurate in earnest. First, a modern wardrobe, charged to the hotel in which “Rebecca” resides. Actually, it’s the home of Alan McMann (Tom Conti), son of Margaret McMann (Coral Browne), the author of the “Ryan” series. When Cathy shows up at Alan’s as Rebecca, he takes it as a joke being played on him by one of his friends, and goes along with it. And very snappy, he wishes he hadn’t; before he knows it, they’re up to their necks in intrigue, tantalizing political machinations and heads of region from a number of different countries. Not to difficulty, though, “Rebecca Ryan” is on the case. It’s all a flight of esteem, played with gusto by the palatable JoBeth Williams. Her Cathy is the dutiful wife and mother, not necessarily demure, but cautious; when Rebecca takes over, however, she lets go without restraint. Rebecca comes on with both barrels, spunky and chunky of moxie, and Williams sells it completely, playing perfectly off of Conti’s initially bemused, then confused, and ultimately jumpy Alan. Their timing is suitable on the money, and Rosenthal never lets it tiring, down; for this kind of record to work, it has to proceed rapid, and it has to halt fun, and on both fronts Rosenthal succeeds. The sage itself may lack some plausibility, but it doesn’t manufacture any difference; fair suspend any disbelief for awhile, and go with it, because this movie is impartial what it’s supposed to be: Captivating and amusing. And, it doesn’t wound that Williams sprinkles it all with charm. There’s some memorable scenes here, including one in which Rebecca, at a party for some dignitaries, whispers what turns out to be a secret code to Don Carlos (Jean Rougerie), an ambassador from Spain, the consequences of which are hilarious. The supporting cast includes Giancarlo Giannini (Victor), Pierre Santini (Inspector Klaus), Leon Zitrone (Ivan), Christopher Daniel Barnes (Kevin, Jr.) and Huckleberry Fox (Karl) . “American Dreamer” is light, breezy fare; it’s well made and delivered with plenty of fun, thanks mostly to Williams, with an able and powerful support from both Conti and Rosenthal. This may not be a classic, but for an evenings entertainment, this will aptly maintain the bill. Moreover, it’s one you’re going to want to peep more than once, because it’s fun, and it’s going to leave you with a smile on your face. And, when you assume about it, that’s not a terrible bargain in today’s world.

I’m continually amazed and confounded why the critics butchered this film when it was first released. AMERICAN DREAMER stars JoBeth Williams in one of her greatest roles, with exquisite relieve from Tom Conti and Coral Browne.

As a faithful wife to her colourless husband (James Staley) and attentive mother to two boys (Huckleberry Fox, C.B. Barnes), Cathy Palmer finds more romance and adventure in her beloved “Rebecca Ryan” novels. Cathy enters a contest where she has to submit a myth written in the style of “Rebecca Ryan”, and wins the slip to romantic Paris. Her husband forbids her to go, but realising this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Cathy packs her bags and goes alone. While siteseeing, Cathy is mugged and hit by a car, and waking up the hospital becomes convinced that she is indeed Rebecca Ryan, in the middle of one of her eminent cases of international espionage.

JoBeth Williams is so unbelievable as Cathy/Rebecca and turns in one of her greatest performances. Not to mention her lush wardrobe of designer clothes! Tom Conti plays the bewildered author of the “Rebecca Ryan” novels, caught up in Cathy’s fantasy. With Coral Browne and Giancarlo Giannini. If you have yet to eye AMERICAN DREAMER, I highly recommend it. This is a classic in my book.

Rapid protein use is desirable immediately before and after exercise to help refuel recovering muscles, but delayed digestion and absorption may be more beneficial at other times including bedtime when your body typically goes for hours without food. Gold Standard Natural 100% Casein is also free of artificial flavors, sweeteners, and synthetic colors and uses only premium micellar caseins to create a protein that’s truly time-released.

Great for appetite control, French vanilla isn’t horrible.4
My wife and I both use this a few times a day. We buy the French Vanilla flavor. It makes adding protein to your meals a snap, especially if you are trying to avoid meat. A bit of this mixed in water, along with some quality carbs and healthy fat, makes for a satisfying meal that keeps you free of hunger pangs untill your next meal. I also take whey before and after workouts; this (casein) definitely keeps you from getting hungry longer. The taste is not great, at first it was hard to take, but after a few weeks I started to almost like it. I tried the regular Gold Standard Casein; it is better tasting and costs less per serving, but; to me the health risk of sucralose is not worth the savings & better flavor. I will stick with the natural product

I wish this were available from amazon on subscribe and save!

Great product.5
I’m a chocolate lover and this chocolate has a pretty good flavor, smooth. It is a mild chocolate flavor and the casein is slightly granular however, it becomes less noticeable if you let the shake sit for several minutes after it’s made. I use non-fat milk and add a tablespoon of grape seed oil. This way you get healthy fat in your diet (no cholesterol) and it makes it taste even better. In addition, the fat lowers the glycemic index so you get sustained energy. You can add oatmeal but the shake is pretty thick with just the casein. Overall it is a very good product!

ON 100% Natural Casein tastes like Choc. Pudding5
I like the taste! I mix ON 100% Natural Casein powder in a cup with a little water so it has the consistency of Choc. Pudding. It has a smell similar to cake mix.
I only purchase ON products that are labled 100% NATURAL since they do not contain SUCRALOSE which I cannot tollerate!! I have early onset type2 diabetes, so I must have a bedtime snack that is long lasting and doesn’t spike my blood sugar. This product fills the bill perfectly!!

To difference the other less-than-favorable reviews, I had to add my “thumbs up” rating for this superbly educational tape from the Sesame Street folk. Long being an admirer of the cute Muppet known as “Elmo”, I couldn’t wait to examine this one with my four-year-old niece and her two-year-old brother. Both kids are totally captivated by Elmo’s informative and moving “lessons” on animals in the wild.

Elmo is definitely a kid well-liked.

The creators of this lovable character realize that his wide-eyed enthusiasm and infectious laugh are the perfect blend to tap into the innocence and curiosity of children. All children are different and while a few may be “jumpy” by the mountainous terrible wolf, I can divulge you that my two young relatives found nothing frightening at all in this improbable tape.

My son loves Elmo and has every Elmo’s world made. I bought this one as soon as I saw it. My son loves animals and I idea this would be his approved Elmo video. Unfortunately, the scene with the expansive awful wolf can be horrible, as the other review says. My son cried (at 15 months) when the tremendous awful wolf came on too. I tried a couple of times and he cried each time. I had to assign this video away and will probably try it again in 6 months or so.

A Wrinkle in Time Description:

It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger.

“Wild nights are my glory,” the unearthly stranger told them. “I just got caught in a downdraft and blown off course. Let me sit down for a moment, and then I’ll be on my way. Speaking of ways, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract.”

A tesseract (in case the reader doesn’t know) is a wrinkle in time. To tell more would rob the reader of the enjoyment of Miss L’Engle’s unusual book. A Wrinkle in Time, winner of the Newbery Medal in 1963, is the story of the adventures in space and time of Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin O’Keefe (athlete, student, and one of the most popular boys in high school). They are in search of Meg’s father, a scientist who disappeared while engaged in secret work for the government on the tesseract problem.

For every child who doesn’t quite fit in5
Meg Murray was one of my best friends growing up. She was imperfect, and loving, and confused, and wickedly smart, and astonishingly dense, and absolutely could not see the beauty of herself (both inside and outside). As a young girl who was also struggling with these things, I found solace and comfort in immersing myself into books where in “the real world” the same types of issues occurred, but that there were “greater” things going on, that she was so uniquely qualified to work on.

While it is true that the book can be read allegorically, it is a treasure all unto itself. I have many geeky, male friends who enjoyed this book as a child, but it did not resonate with them like it did with the woman I have spoken to. I think this is a book wonderful for all genders and ages, but especially lovely for young girls who are a little smarter than the rest of their class, who feel a little less attractive, and who are just finding it difficult to traverse their world.

Many years later, I still find myself reading or listening to this book at least once every year. When things in life start to get a little crazy, and all of those same feelings come back (only now it is being a little too smart at work, and being a little less socially skilled at networking, etc), I visit my friend Meg, and between the two of us things always seem clearer by the end of the book. :)

It is worth noting that there are 3 other books in this “series”. A Wrinkle in Time is the first one, then “A Wind in the Door” (A Wind in the Door), “A Swiftly Tilting Planet” (A Swiftly Tilting Planet), and lastly “Many Waters” (Many Waters). The first three are closely tied, but the last one, Many Waters, I actually only realized existed a few years ago. Instead of Having Meg Murray as one of the main characters the book is about an adventure that her younger, twin brothers have. Still good, but a little different than the first 3.

No matter your age, if you have never read these books, and have a little bit of the “intelligent misfit” about you (or ever did), I strongly recommend you pick these books up!

This book is amazing.5
I read this book in about the 7th grade which was around four years ago. I loved this book when i read it. It combines fantasy and amazing writing into one book. I loved how Meg went to save her brother and father. This book is really truly amazing. When I review a book on amazon that i love, i like to look at the one star review and read why people did not like that certain book. I did the same with this book and learned that a lot of kids under the age of 13 were reading this book, and not enjoying it. They either said that they didn’t understand it, and therefore it was boring, or that people can really tesser to another planet. If you do not understand a book, then you should put it down and read it a few years later. Those who stated that no one can really tesser to another planet or place are right, you can’t, but this story is fiction, meaning it is not real.

thank you for your time
and i sincerely hope that
you read this book,
Loran

Great book!5
I read this book as a child and have re-read it as an adult, it is one of the books that launched my love for reading. Thank you Ms. L’Engle for the great story and adventure. Rest in Peace.

But if you’re looking for the scene where Goldie is briefly topless in the shower, forget the DVD. Either the widescreen format sever it off or this is the later edited for TV version. Stick to the unique VHS tape version.

Most people I know have not seen this movie. In my view, it is very underrated. I adore it. What’s laughable is when they visit each other’s parents. Jessica Tandy plays Goldie’s mom, and she is extraordinary. Goldie doesn’t want to sleep with Burt in her traditional room at her childhood home: “This is my teenage room. It’s not for sexual relations, it’s for slumber parties.”

Customer Reviews:

Great little hooks!!!5
I have a lot of heavy mirrors and pictures, I also have many big holes in my walls because I change things around often. I bought these hooks after patching up the big holes from screws, nails, anchors, etc. I must say I am very happy with this product. They are very easy to use and it just took me seconds to hang a very big picture. Now I won’t feel so bad when I change things up because the hole left in the wall is minimal.

Worst picture-hangers in the US rejoices!!!!!5
My wife and I bought these hooks on the chance that these hooks might save us the pain and suffering that goes with hanging pictures and things on the wall. These hooks are all they are cracked up to be…they actually work. I thought there was no way they would, but sure enough push them in, turn them around, and there you have a perfect hook for that picture.

Best hanging system I have ever found5
It is hard to get excited over a hook in the wall but these things are amazing. So simple yet so perfect for the job they do. I hang a lot of pictures and have always been annoyed at the options. These have changed everything. They are the perfect hanger. They simply poke into the wall and remove leaving the smallest nail size hole. I know it sounds stupid but I love these things! They seem a bit expensive but are worth it. They make my life easier and that is surely worth the cost.

Many mountainous fans of the current claim that you shouldn’t rob one step into going advance this one.But enormous Lilo and Stitch fans should definitely give this one a go.And they could turn out suprised, but this is suprisingly immense stuff.Certain it’s not as suitable as the first, but as a film in it’s believe moral, everything here is area on unbelievable once again. The fresh villian,Dr.Hamsterwheel(Hamsterviel! It is Hamsterviel!!) is the greatest and most hilarious character I have seen in the contrivance of spirited gerbil like creations(I AM NOT GERBIL-LIKE,I AM HAMSTER-LIKE!) .His accent is fanastic. His assert talent,Jeff Bennett,is fabulous. And his one-liners are astonishing!Such as ‘I AM IRKED!’at the disappointing explore of Experiment 625(also a unique and hilarious character),’YOU Believe YOU’RE SO…PHONE BOOK,PHONE BOOK!!!’,where he’s starts a threat and discovers that Lilo is higher than he is,and finally,’I WASN’T REALLY GONNA Carve YOU IN HALF,IT WAS A JOKE!DIDN’T JUMBA Attach A Laughable BONE IN YOU? ‘,after Sparky saves Stitch and Lilo calls for succor, then he pick up frightened! It’s shining!

Also many of the cast have stayed in to do unprejudiced as well if not better,Daveigh Slide is incredible as Lilo once again,Stitch has a current spot finding his ‘cousins’,and Jumba and Pleakley are mighty, remarkable funnier in this one!The only two downfalls are that the Elvis music has been sever short to honest one song of his,’Slicin’ Sand’,which ain’t his best, but at least Gareth Gates doesn’t end another classic like last time, and Aloha,E Komo Mai,which you’ll hear over the demolish credits,or before the originate of the TV demonstrate,is one of the best songs I’ve heard in ages.So why is it not featured on the Island Favourites CD? Also this film could be a bit longer,I disfavor seeing Lilo and Stitch extinguish, especially after only an hour or so,but I’ve heard rumours of a third film coming soon so maintain me posted.

The location of Stitch The Movie is great but doesn’t always match up to it’s expectations.First off,you only peek 2 unusual experiments,625 and 221,so the rest of the excitement is left solely to the series. But there’s all kinds of twists and turns here as a astounding unique adventure unfolds.

Overall Stitch The Movie may not behold like worthy, but it’s honest as supremely spellbinding as the recent Lilo and Stitch, hitting all the true notes again, and keeping us all entertained until we found out the truth about the rumoured third movie.

So now I’m gonna stick this aid in my DVD player and go build myself a sandwich!

While quiet delicious, this film lacked remarkable of what made the fresh “Lilo and Stitch” movie delightful for adults as well as children.

The drawing was too simple and the film included very slight music at all (especially compared to the first movie) . Stitch’s mischievious ways were almost totally reformed leaving Stitch more like a blue, six-legged, teddy occupy. The sequel carried virtually none of the Hawaiin tradition from the first film. Also, the sequel paid very exiguous attention to Lilo and her sister’s family status.

The sequel is an certain run job and an even more sure segway (sp? ) to the upcoming TV cartoon. It has a srong “Pokemon” feel to it (”Gotta secure em all”) rather than the feel of the first “Lilo and “Stich” movie.

This movie could have been worthy better, however Disney chose to totally overkill the conception of Stitch’s cousins and left out too remarkable of the unusual characters’ traits.
